Resoles (Dutch: rissole) are savory snack filled with meat, usually minced meat, and vegetables wrapped and rolled in pancake, and fried after being coated with breadcrumb.
Resoles used to be called "roinsolles", becoming known in the 13th century. At that time, this food was just a pancake that was fried in a frying pan using butter or animal fat. In subsequent developments, this food is then filled with minced meat.
