Lapis Legit Prunes is our varian from original one, a type of Indonesian layer cake. It was developed during colonial era in the Dutch East Indies.
The firm texture cake is an Indo version of the European multi layer spit cake. However, it is no baked on rotating spit, and contains a mix of typical Indonesian spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, clove, mace/nutmeg and anise. The cake is made of flour and yolk and it is rich of butter and margarine.
This cake is popular in Indonesia adn served as a holiday treat, especially for Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Idul Fitri. It is also served or given as gift during many local festive such as birthday dan wedding
